Introduction
I'm Luke Raphael Grove, a British director, roller-skating camera operator & editor based in Berlin, London & Cornwall. And the founder of Raphael Parallax.
I produce fashion films, music videos, dance films and brand films. Everything I make returns to one idea: suspension, the held breath inside motion.
The work
Movement connects everything I make, but movement alone isn't a position. What I look for is the arrested moment: the inhale, never the exhale. It's tension that refuses to resolve.
I hold it through restraint. I work with monochrome, negative space, isolated subjects and unhurried cinematic pacing, and each image is built to slow the viewer down rather than instruct them.
Underneath the work runs an ongoing visual study of modern masculinity. I come to it out of curiosity, not advocacy: strength and vulnerability in the same frame, and neither one cancelling the other.
Raphael Parallax
Raphael Parallax is the production house I'm building for fashion films and commercials.
Parallax is depth perceived between two viewpoints, and that is the thesis of the house: two ways of seeing, synthesised within one frame.

We work in two modes:
Urbana: forward-facing, engineered and fluent in tech and AI. It's for brands building what comes next.
Natura: Warm, minimalist and human. It's for brands that value what lasts.
The strongest work holds both at once.
In an industry built on churn, we set our own speed. We take on fewer projects, choose them carefully, and work only with brands that feel aligned with how we see.
Visio Occulta is our behind-the-scenes line. It captures documentary-grade coverage from a single shoot: a hero film for the brand, PR assets, and personal content for the crew.
Beyond the screen, alongside my partner Scherin Slimani, an architect, we build immersive spatial installations with projection for brand pop-ups, and we host unplugged community events.
For us, community is how a house grows.

Craft
I work across the whole image, from the first frame to the final grade.
Direction: fashion film, music video, dance film and brand film
Edit and colour: the grade is where the signature lives, not just where it's preserved.
Camera on skates, gimbal and Steadicam: one of the few operators in Europe who shoots on skates, moving with the subject rather than around it
Photography: cinematic black and white & bold colour flash photography
Creative direction: from audience analysis to strategy, concepts and storyboards
Behind the scenes: documentary-grade coverage through Visio Occulta
